Fault Lines – February 20 to March 1, at Cinquième Salle LiveEvents January 27, 2014 3892 AT THE HEART OF AN EARTHQUAKE – Fault Lines This vibrant modern dance performance was inspired by the devastation experienced by the inhabitants of the Sichuan province in China, where, in 2008, a violent earthquake killed 70,000 people. The artists of the troupe, almost all of whom are from the region hit by the quake, show us and make us feel their firsthand experience of this tragedy through the complex emotions it provokes. Fault Lines was born through a unique artistic collaboration between the Chinese Leshan Song & Dance Troupe and New Zealand choreographer Sara Brodie. The result is a touching performance featuring 16 Chinese dancers whose movements demonstrate a rare technical prowess.
