The Opéra de Montréal welcomes German tenor and opera superstar Jonas Kaufmann for a concert of opera arias. Accompanying the renowned tenor will be the Orchestre Métropolitain under the direction of Jochen Rieder. On the program will be some of tenor’s most famous arias.

Jonas Kaufmann is considered to be today’s top tenor, appearing on the world’s most prestigious stages, directed by some of the most famous conductors on the scene. Be it as Cavarodossi or Don José at the Royal Opera House, Don Carlo at the Salzburg Festival, Lohengrin at La Scala and the Bayreuth Festival, or Werther in Paris. Whether it’s for Il trovatore, La forza del destino, and Fidelio in Munich, or Parsifal at the Metropolitan Opera, the world’s opera houses all want to book dates for this powerhouse performer. Kaufmann is at the pinnacle of his career; his mature voice compared to a rich Bordeaux wine.

This special opera concert will take place in Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier at Place des Arts on Sunday, February 2, at 2 pm.
