Danse Danse presents

Soif by O Vertigo

Danse Danse opens its 17th season by celebrating the 30 years of O Vertigo, with carte blanche given to Ginette Laurin. An excellent ambassador of Quebec dance, this major choreographer has made dance history with touching, explosive works full of vitality and inventiveness. In this new piece, raw energy, lyricism and high speed electrify the bodies of 8 dancers galvanized by the desire for fulfillment in encounters with the other, conveying a veritable thirst, a craving for love, for liberty, for power, recognition, vengeance. Like the strongly contrasting lighting enveloping the stage, they paint a moving chiaroscuro portrait of imperfect humanity.

“In its three decades of existence, the dance company O Vertigo has helped make Montreal one of the focal points of contemporary dance.”  (Premières en affaires, Montreal)

“Laurin’s constant courage and open-mindedness are qualities that mark O Vertigo, impelling it to take new risks with the playful fearlessness its name implies.” (Dance International, Vancouver)
