2015 Rogers Cup Tournament

Rogers Cup presented by National Bank is a prestigious professional tennis tournament organized by Tennis Canada. Since 1881 for the men and 1892 for the women, the best players in the world have showcased their skills on Canadian courts. Only Wimbledon and the US Open have longer histories than the major Canadian stop, which is acknowledged by the tennis world to be one of the best-run tournaments on the Tour. Classified as a Masters 1000 event on the ATP World Tour schedule, the Rogers Cup presented by National Bank attracts the biggest stars in tennis.

Montreal and Toronto share the task of hosting, in alternation, the best men’s and women’s players in the world. The two Canadian tournaments are “virtually combined” which means they are played at the same time, during the same week. So, from August 7-16, 2015 the men will be in Montreal while the women will play in Toronto.

“We are once again thrilled to be welcoming the ATP World Tour back to the city of Montreal,” said Eugene Lapierre, Rogers Cup Montreal tournament director. “We experienced world record attendance when the men were in town in 2011 as well as historic results from our Canadian players in 2013. We are hoping for the 2015 edition of the event to be even better and this player field will help us achieve that. We are very much looking forward to creating more memorable moments for our fans.”

Other past champions expected at the tournament include nine-time French Open winner Rafael Nadal, 17-time Grand Slam champion Roger Federer, two-time Rogers Cup titlist Andy Murray,  and defending champion Jo-Wilfried Tsonga. Joining them will be fan favourites Stan Wawrinka and homegrown stars Milos Raonic and Vasek Pospisil.
