Festival Classica

The 6th edition of Festival Classica, takes place from Sunday, May 29 to Sunday, June 5, 2016, in the heart of downtown Saint-Lambert. Satellite concerts are also slated for the cities of Boucherville, Brossard, Saint-Constant and Westmount.

Founded in 2011, Festival Classica is dedicated to creating a public space that fosters encounters between classical music, artists and the population. Following the resounding success of its first five editions, the Festival continues to offer an exceptional program in an inviting family atmosphere. During seven consecutive days, Festival Classica will bring together hundreds of artists, who will present indoor and outdoor concerts, shows for young audiences and scores of other activities to more than 50,000 festival-goers. In addition, through its educational mission, Festival Classica also offers rising stars the opportunity to showcase their talents on the Scène de la relève.

Since its spectacular debut in 2011, Festival Classica’s success has continued to grow. It is proud to have become, over this relatively short time, a don’t-miss event on the classical music scene. Today, it stands among the emerging cultural organizations of the highest calibre, by virtue of its reputation as well as the quality of its programming and its governance.

By the numbers, since its first edition, Festival Classica has presented 171 concerts, attracted 157,600 festival-goers, and featured exceptional performances by 378 guest artists, 640 orchestral musicians, 1,035 choristers, 2,240 next-generation musicians, and 124 painters.

Festival Classica is acclaimed across Canada, in the United States, in Europe and even as far as Australia, thanks to exciting productions and radio broadcasts produced here and reprised elsewhere.
