Viva Vivaldi!

A pioneer of the concerto for soloist, Vivaldi is one of the first composers to have established a framework for the genre. A virtuoso violinist in his own right, he penned more than 500 concertos and influenced several generations of musicians, including Johann Sebastian Bach, who transcribed ten of his concerti. Succumb to the irresistible charm of Vivaldi in this concert conducted by Kent Nagano and featuring six soloists!

OSM Classical Spree / Virée classique

Classical SpreeThe 5th edition of the OSM Classical Spree Festival is a grand celebration of classical music, where great international masters meet a new generation of rising talent, performing work by composers of yesterday and today. With a colourful offering of more than 30 concerts over 4 days, the possibilities are nearly endless. Chamber music, recitals, vocal music, world music, youth oriented concerts, and of course symphonic concerts make up the varied programming.  This year the programming breaches the traditional borders of the concert hall, with a whole new series of free outdoor performances, movie and opera screenings.  www.osm.ca/en/festival-viree-classique
