The Ladies’ Morning Musical Club presents

Quatuor Hermès

Omer Bouchez – violin       Yung-Hsin Lou Chang – viola
Elise Liu
– violin      Anthony Kondo – cello

Maturity, sincerity, finesse and intelligence are the words that come to mind when hearing the Quatuor Hermès, qualities noted by the Ravel and Ysaÿe Quartets. The great pianist Alfred Brendel called them “one of the finest promising young quartets” he has heard. Among the first prizes they have received are from the Lyon International Competition (2009), the Geneva Competition (2011) and the Young Concert Artist Auditions in New York (2012), following which the quartet was invited to make its debuts at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. and Carnegie Hall. The French foursome joined forces as students at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Lyon in 2008. In 2012 their first disc appeared – music of Haydn and Beethoven. Subsequently they recorded the three quartets of Schumann, which has been highly praised in The Strad, France musique, and CHOC among others. Among the prestigious venues where they have performed are the Lockenhaus Festival, the Orangerie de Sceaux, Festival Radio France Montpellier, and the Crescendo Festival in Berlin. Since 2013 the Quatuor Hermès has been in residence at the Fondation Singer-Polignac. LMMC Debut.
