The Ox on the Roof – I Musici de Montréal

The diversity of this concert programme mirrors Chagall’s manifold cultural identities. Works by Stravinsky, Prokofiev, and Bloch recall his dual Russian and Jewish roots, while Milhaud evokes France, the artist’s country of adoption. A new work by the young composer and author Nicolas Gilbert, commissioned by I Musici and inspired by the pictorial treasures that Chagall has left us, will complete the programme.
