A major musical feast!

For a 38th consecutive year, Montreal is ready to experience a wave of music, entertainment, energy, and the shared love and magic of a city that has become a symbol of cultural effervescence and joie de vivre the world over! From June 28 to July 8, hundreds of thousands of fans will flood the site of the world’s largest jazz festival to revel in a vast program that boldly bridges jazz, blues, rock, reggae, world music and electronica, with over 500 concerts—2/3 of them free—presented over 11 days and nights on 20 stages, on a site closed off to traffic: an oasis of musical pleasure in the heart of downtown! From small intimate venues to immense open-air concerts, major established artists to rising young prodigies, global rhythms to local talents, the Festival assembles the entire spectrum of musical possibilities under one watchword: joy!

Four major free outdoor events on the TD Stage in an extraordinary edition!

For a one-of-a-kind celebration of the anniversary of Canada, the Place des Festivals is transformed into a gigantic open-air dancefloor. The Discotheque special event spotlights the music of Canadian artists of yesterday and today, ready to get the dancefloor jumping! The program stars Carly Rae Jepsen, Men Without Hats, Radio Radio, Muzion, and Buffalo Hat Singers, along with 24 musicians, 5 singers, 35 dancers, wild projections, surprises and a fireworks display with stage direction by Yann Perreau and artistic and musical direction by DJ Champion and Alex McMahon. Three days later, the mid-Festival TD Grand Event starring Walk Off the Earth will ignite the Place des Festivals crowd with unparallelled musical energy! Fans who’ve never seen Walk Off the Earth in concert are in for a real surprise: with viral videos showcasing their wild creativity and chemistry, this quintet guarantees a colourful performance that captures the power of their crazed videos, with originals and covers driven by the purest DIY aesthetic featuring percussion, unusual instruments, vocal harmonies and mad camaraderie. Expect the unexpected: surprises and music driven by the magical moment, in a unique concert event where energy reigns! July 4, 9:30 pm

On July 8, in the Rio Tinto Grand Closing Event, singer, rapper, drummer and newly crowned R&B prince Anderson .Paak arrives with his remarkable group The Free Nationals to close out the Festival with a deep groove experience that is likely to imprint its very own chapter in Festival history. The embodiment of a new generation of wild, hybrid hip-hop, Anderson .Paak burns down every stage he plays with his jazz-rap and revivified boom-bap, a spellbinding crucible of soul, R&B, funk and rap, with guitar riffs electrifying deeply funky bass lines.
