THE WINGS OF DESIRE

For their return performance in Montreal, Ensemble Variances engages with one of the most powerful human feelings: desire. Desire, as this concert will demonstrate, is an essential source of inspiration for creators and the thread that unites all works on the programme. In a dialogue between French music from the early 20th century and the music of today, benchmark works by Debussy and Stravinsky alternate with pieces by Thierry Pécou. A new work on the same theme by Michael Elisson, with whom Thierry Pécou and Ensemble Variance have strong ties, will also be premiere.
